FAQs

What age and learning stage is Motherminds designed for?

Motherminds is designed for children in the early years of learning, generally around ages 4–7. Rather than relying on age alone, we focus on your child’s current skills and learning stage, so they can begin where they are and build strong foundations at a pace that feels right for them.

How do I know which curriculum my child should start with?

Your child doesn’t need to start with Curriculum 1 simply because they’re new to Motherminds. Curriculum 1 builds the foundational skills that come before formal reading and writing, while Curriculum 2 is for children ready to begin applying their sound knowledge to reading, spelling and writing. Our short placement quiz can help you choose the best starting point based on what your child can already do.

What’s included inside the curriculum?

Each curriculum includes:

* 10-week structured roadmaps

* Ready-to-use lessons

* Hands-on learning activities

* Parent teaching scripts

* Assessment and moderation support

* Progress tracking tools

* Printable resources and guidance

Everything is designed to make homeschooling feel calm, clear, and manageable.

Can the curriculum work for mixed aged siblings?

Yes. Motherminds is designed to be flexible enough to meet children at different learning stages. Siblings may work alongside one another while using different levels of support, resources or expectations. The focus is not on keeping children at the same level, but giving each child an appropriate next step.

How much time do we need each week?

Motherminds is built around short, focused explicit teaching sessions, with suggested activities to help children practise and apply what they’re learning. From there, there is plenty of flexibility. You can do more when your child is engaged and wanting to continue, or keep it simple when less is what works for your family that day. The curriculum provides the structure and direction, without requiring you to recreate a school day at home.

Is Motherminds aligned with the Australian Curriculum?

Yes. Motherminds is informed by the Australian Curriculum and evidence based approaches to early literacy and numeracy. The curriculum develops the foundational knowledge and skills children need while allowing families the flexibility to teach responsively, follow their child’s pace and create a learning rhythm that works at home. Motherminds has also been positively received by home education moderators in Western Australia, providing families with a clear and considered approach to documenting and supporting their child’s learning.
